The Embassy of Sweden, London will accept applications from residents of the United Kingdom only.

Processed applications can also be returned by Special Delivery at an additional cost.
Applicants have the option of paying their visa fees by Credit/Debit card (only at the Visa Application Centre) or Postal Orders in the name of "Sweden Visa Application Centre". Fees in Cash will also be accepted only at the London Centre. Cheques will not be accepted.

Schengen Visa Information:

A Schengen visa has to be obtained from the Embassy of the country where the MAIN PURPOSE OF TRAVEL lies. Therefore, please check your travel plans before applying at the Sweden Visa Application Centre in London.

In case of travel to multiple Schengen countries, please apply to the Embassy of the country where you will be staying for the maximum number of days. If the number of days to be spent in multiple countries is the same, you must apply to the embassy of the country which will be your first point of entry.

If you plan to apply for a Schengen visa at the Sweden Visa Application Centre, your main destination and the maximum period of stay in the Schengen States must be in Sweden only. Please provide proof to support this information.

The Sweden Visa Application Centre will accept your application but cannot guarantee a visa as the decision to issue a visa and its duration is made by the Embassy of Sweden in London only.

Applying for a visa
You must apply in person at the Sweden Visa Application Center. If you are not a resident of the UK you should apply at the Embassy in your country of residence.

Please note that holders of Schengen visas are still subject to immigration control and are not guaranteed entry into any of the Schengen countries, even though they may hold a valid visa for these countries.

Please bring photocopies of both your passport (photo page and UK-permit page) and of those original documents that you wish to keep (i.e. marriage certificate, bank statement). Remember that the Embassy does not return any documents.
Applicant of an EU/EEA-spouse should bring the passport of the spouse and original Marriage Certificate.
Children under 18 must have their birth certificate with them.
Your UK permit must be endorsed in your passport and should be valid for another three months after your departure from the Schengen area.

Along with the visa fees, there is a service charge of £24.00 (inclusive of VAT) applicable per visa application.

Coin -operated Photocopier and Photo Booth are available for your use at the London centre, should you require it.

Step 1
Only Transit, Tourists, Business, Family/ Friend visits and Dependents/ Spouses of EEA Nationals applications are accepted at the VFS application centre

Step 2
Mandatory - Please Schedule an appointment at the visa application centre to submit your Short Stay Transit, Tourists, Business, Family/ Friend visit and Dependents/ Spouses of EEA Nationals application. click on the link to Schedule Appointment . Edinburgh is a walk- in center, please click on the ‘contact us’ link for details. Please note that you should submit your visa application no more than 90 days prior to your date of travel.

Step 4
ALL applicants traveling MUST apply in person - On arriving at the visa application centre, you will be required to take a token at the entrance and be seated in the waiting area – you will next be called to our submission counter where your application and supporting documents will be scrutinized – your photograph and passport will be checked for validity – Finally, you will be issued a receipt for the fees and service charge paid as an acknowledgement. Please carry the originals and copies of all documents. Applicants requiring special physical assistance are requested to contact our helpline prior to visiting our centre so that appropriate support can be offered.
